OTTO VOR - OTO

Strange.

OTTO VOR near OTTO, NM.

This VOR was an interesting find. Seemingly an older design and one of the few VOR only stations.

As I drove up, as with many VORs, you have to drive near or through farm fields. My rule is I will never pass a closed gate, fence, or no trespassing sign.

A man in an old truck drove up asking what I was doing. He was approving of my ~~autism~~ obsession, and said I wasn't the first of my kind to come 'round. He proceeded to show me photos of a time decades earlier when a helicopter crashed near the VOR and other photos of militarians doing training maneuvers on the property. He was also quite the conspiracy theorist. And we all know that no conspiracies ever are revealed to be true.
